Room-Temperature Eggs
- Place the egg in a pan and add water to a depth of about 1 cm.
- Cover with a lid and cook over medium-high heat. Start a 4-minute timer when you turn on the heat.
- Turn off the heat after 4 minutes and let the egg cook in the residual steam for another 4 minutes.

Chilled-Eggs
- Place the egg in a pan and add water to a depth of about 1 cm.
- Cover with a lid and cook over medium-high heat. Start a 5-minute timer when you turn on the heat.
- Turn off the heat after 5 minutes and let the egg cook in the residual steam for another 4 minutes.
The normal way

- Bring water to a boil. (Ensure there is enough water to cover the eggs completely.)

Once the water is boiling, turn down the heat a little, and gently place the egg into the pan.
- Start a 7-minute timer.
